Claridge's site to go ahead despite Daniel Humm and Will Guidara split

Claridge's new restaurant Davies and Brook is to go ahead as scheduled despite the ending of the working relationship between Daniel Humm and Will Guidara.

The chef and manager team are famed for turning New York's Eleven Madison Park into a three-Michelin-starred mecca for customers and industry talent alike. The pair took on the site in 2006 and bought it outright from its former owner, New York restaurateur Danny Meyer in 2011.

Since then under the Make It Nice group Humm and Guidara have opened several highly acclaimed sites, including NoMad in the NoMad hotel in Manhattan.

The pair announced yesterday that they would end their successful collaboration and divide their fortunes with Humm buying out the restaurant group from Guidara, who intends to use the money to start a group of his own.

A spokeswoman for Claridge's said: "We have immense respect for Daniel and Will and all they and their team have created at Make it Nice, and we wish Will every success in his future plans.

"We are fully committed to supporting Daniel and his team, as they join our Claridge's family and work towards the opening of Davies and Brook here this autumn. We are excited to be bringing this new restaurant to the London dining scene."
