Claude Bosi to open Josephine bistro in January

Claude Bosi is to open a French bistro with his wife Lucy Bosi on London's Fulham Road in January.

The restaurant is named after Bosi's late grandmother Josephine and will be based on traditional bouchons found in his hometown of Lyon.

The 76-cover site will also see the London return of Will Smith, formerly of Arbutus and Wild Honey, who will join Bosi as general manager.

Bosi, who recently opened Brooklands at the Peninsula hotel, will base the menu on the French regional classics his grandmother Josephine used to cook for him. It will feature a plat du jour and a set 'menu des canut', named after traditional Lyonnais silk and lace weavers.

Wine will be served bouchon-style, allowing guests to only pay for what they drink. There will also be an accessible bin-end menu available.

Claude Bosi said: "We're incredibly excited to bring a little piece of Lyon to Fulham with the opening of Josephine. This restaurant is a very personal project for us, an ode to my grandmother and the traditional bouchons of Lyon that have always held a special place in our hearts.

"With Josephine, we hope to create a welcoming space that we hope locals, Londoners and friends from afar will want to keep coming back to. We can't wait to open our doors and share this special restaurant with the community."
