First look: classic interior design for Gleneagles Townhouse Edinburgh
The interiors of the 33-bedroom Gleneagles Townhouse, set to open in Edinburgh in spring 2022, have been unveiled.
They reveal a classic design throughout the building on St Andrew Square which once housed the British Linen Bank before becoming the Bank of Scotland. The look has been created by an in-house team from Ennismore Design Studio, which sits within the newly expand Ennismore following its merger last month with Accor.
The launch of the Edinburgh hotel will mark the first expansion of the iconic 96-year-old Gleneagles hotel in Auchterarder, Perthshire, a one-hour drive outside of the city.
Original fireplaces and panelling have been reimagined with fresh colours, while the grandeur of the building has been enhanced through decorative mouldings and canopy crown headboards. Recent artworks will add a contemporary touch.
Key features will include a 120-seat, all-day dining restaurant called the Spence (pictured top), located in the former banking hall, roof terrace bar Lamplighters (pictured below), and a gym and wellness studio in the old bank vault. A members' club will offer all-day dining and a bar.
