Chef Larry Jayasekara to open the Cocochine restaurant in October

Chef Larry Jayasekara and owner of Mayfair's Hamiltons Gallery Tim Jefferies are to open the Cocochine restaurant in October.

The restaurant, in Bruton Place just off London's Berkeley Square, will open in a four-storey former mews house. It will have an à la carte offering inspired by Jayasekara's travels and featuring produce from regenerative mixed farmland in Northamptonshire.

The farm will provide fruit, vegetables, seasonal flowers and livestock, including game as well as native and rare-breed pigs.

Jayasekara, previously head chef of Gordon Ramsay's Pétrus in Belgravia and National Chef of the Year 2016, said: "Growing up in a village in Sri Lanka, you understand from an early age how much time and commitment goes into farming great ingredients. As chefs, we have access to some of the finest produce in the world, and I want to support those systems both here and overseas and celebrate them in every menu."

The restaurant, named after an affectionate term for Jefferies' daughter, will have a 28-cover dining room on the ground floor, with a seven-seat chef counter on the first floor, which along with the second floor storey will be available for private hire.

It features bespoke furniture and a specially commissioned mosaic inspired by a former exhibition at Hamiltons Gallery of work by Guido Mocafico, while a revolving series of curated original artwork from Hamiltons Gallery will adorn the walls.

A basement wine cellar will feature classic wines alongside boutique and small production varietals.
