Moor Hall to open seven standalone garden bedrooms

Seven standalone garden rooms are to launch at chef Mark Birchall's two-Michelin-starred Moor Hall restaurant with rooms in Lancashire in spring 2024.

The rooms will be priced from £1,100 a night for dinner, bed and breakfast for two and feature a hot tub and private decking area.

Birchall has worked with design studio KOTO to name each of the rooms after botanicals that can be found in the kitchen garden, such as oxalis, anise hyssop and sea buckthorn.

Moor Hall currently has seven overnight bedrooms, five of which are in the main house, while the remainder are located in the gatehouse. The new rooms will be tucked away in the secluded woodland that surrounds the gardens.

Birchall said: "Moor Hall is constantly evolving. Innovation, sustainability, and an outstanding guest experience are at the heart of everything we do, and I am so excited for this next stage in our journey.

"Moor Hall is located in a beautiful setting, and it has been a pleasure working with KOTO to design new rooms that celebrate the surroundings and connect guests to the natural world around them."

The restaurant with rooms occupies a Grade II*-listed building that dates to the 13th century. Andy and Tracey Bell acquired the site in 2015 and reopened it as Moor Hall in 2017 after a major refurbishment in partnership with chef patron Birchall.

Moor Hall was awarded two Michelin stars in 2018, a year after it received its first. It was also recognised with a Green Michelin star in 2022.
