RedCat Pub Company acquires the White Horse hotel in Romsey
A historic four-star hotel in Hampshire has been sold to rapidly growing pub investment firm RedCat Pub Company.
The White Horse hotel in Romsey will be operated by the Coaching Inn Group, which was recently acquired by RedCat Pub Company, headed by the ex-chief executive of Greene King Rooney Anand.
Savills announced that it sold the hotel on behalf of a private client to RedCat, which has continued to expand its holdings since its launch in February 2021. The sale price was undisclosed.
By March, RedCat had gained over 40 new sites from Stonegate, one of the UK's largest pub companies.
Until 2019, the property was entangled in an eight-year investigation into money laundering which resulted in it being recovered by the National Crime Agency.
Kevin Marsh, head of licensed leisure at Savills, said: "The demand for well-located pub and hospitality assets continues to be robust and this latest transaction shows great confidence in the market."
The Grade II-listed building has 29 bedrooms, a bar, restaurant, private dining and lounge space. The Stables can also accommodate a large function for 100 guests.
