One Star Döner Bar

Location Hare & Hounds Pub, Kings Heath, Birmingham

Opening February

Brad Carter the chef behind Michelin-starred Carters of Moseley in Birmingham, started a kebab side-project during lockdown, which is set to take up residency in a pub. It will offer a choice of two kebabs or two shawarmas with potato smileys as a side order.

Midland Grand Dining Room

Location St Pancras Renaissance hotel, London

Opening Early 2023

Chef Patrick Powell is to take over the space once occupied by Marcus Wareing's Gilbert Scott restaurant at London's St Pancras Renaissance hotel. It will be the third collaboration between hotelier Harry Handelsman and Powell, who worked together at Chiltern Firehouse and Allegra in the capital.

Mark Poynton at Caistor Hall

Location Caistor Hall, Norfolk

Opening Spring

Chef Mark Poynton is to open a restaurant within a Norfolk hotel offering "light but flavour-driven dishes that will change as and when the seasons dictate". Mark Poynton at Caistor Hall will offer tasting menus only at lunch and dinner. The head chef will be Byron Franklin, who is currently working alongside Poynton at his existing restaurant, MJP@TheShepherds in Fen Ditton, Cambridge.

Barnaby's

Location Padstow, Cornwall

Opening May

The team behind Prawn on the Lawn are to open a 45-cover restaurant at the Trevibban Mill Vineyard and Orchard near Padstow in Cornwall over the summer. Fish will be the focus, alongside Mediterranean and Middle Eastern-inspired meat and vegetable dishes. Indoor and outdoor seating will offer views of wildflower fields and the vineyards.

The Stock Market Grill

Location Stock Exchange hotel, Manchester

Opening February

The space that housed Tom Kerridge's Bull & Bear restaurant at Gary Neville's Stock Exchange hotel is to be relaunched as the Stock Market Grill. It will serve traditional British dishes with the kitchen led by Joshua Reed Cooper, who has worked at the French and Mana in Manchester.

Location 41 South Audley Street, London

Opening Early 2023

Chef Claude Bosi and Samyukta Nair (pictured) the co-founder of London's Jamavar and Bombay Bustle restaurants, are teaming up to open a Mediterranean restaurant in Mayfair. It will serve dishes inspired by the flavours of the French Riviera.

The Three Horseshoes

Location Batcombe, Somerset

Opening Early 2023

Celebrated chef Margot Henderson is venturing out of London to open her first pub with rooms in a restored 18th-century inn. The main bar will feature wooden beams and a fireplace, and welcome guests and dogs, while the dining room will serve hearty dishes such as chicken and tarragon pie and custard tarts.

Joia

Location Art'otel London Battersea Power Station

Opening February

Portuguese chef Henrique Sá Pessoa, who is behind two-Michelin-starred Alma in Lisbon, is overseeing the launch of an Iberian bar and restaurant at the Art'otel London Battersea Power Station. Joia will be spread across the 14th and 15th floors and serve a mix of snacks, petiscos and tapas.

Opening March

Former Duck & Waffle executive chef Tom Cenci (inset) and Guy Ivesha, founder of hospitality group Maslow's, are to launch a modern British bistro on the ground floor of the 1 Warwick members' club in London's Soho. The all-day menu will include ox cheek hot pot with confit potatoes (pictured above), and mussels in cider with parsley and garlic baguette.

Brightside

Opening From February

Restaurant group Loungers is aiming to revive motorway dining with the roll-out of a new roadside restaurant concept. Brightside will target families, holidaymakers and locals and serve comfort food such as burgers, pizzas and brunch. Sites are lined up on the A38, south of Exeter, the A303 near Honiton, the A38 near Saltash and at Ram Jam Services in Rutland.

Arcade Food Hall

Location Battersea Power Station, London

Opening 2023

JKS Restaurants is to open a second Arcade Food Hall in London at the Battersea Power Station development. The 24,000 sq ft space will include a standalone kiosk run by Taiwanese group Bao, while several new restaurant brands celebrating global cuisine will be created for the site.

Location Bateman's Buildings, Soho, London

Opening May

The Wolseley Hospitality Group's long-awaited seafood restaurant is finally expected to open in London's Soho this May after a two-year delay. It will pay homage to the restaurant of the same name that famously served Londoners off Leicester Square for more than half a century. Dishes are set to include moules marinière and Dover sole, with mermaids to feature in the interior design.

Unnamed Yannick Alléno restaurant

Location Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane, London

Opening Summer

French chef Yannick Alléno (pictured) runs 14 international restaurants that share 15 Michelin stars between them. His first all-day London site will open at the Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane this summer, with dishes set to combine British ingredients with traditional French gastronomy.

Harvest

Location Kensal Rise, London

Opening Early 2023

Jesse Dunford Wood, the chef behind Parlour and Six Portland Road, is to open his third London restaurant, in Kensal Rise. The all-day menu will major on vegetarian dishes alongside British fish and meat and there will be space for 70 covers in the dining room, as well as a heated garden and street-facing terrace.

Pearly Cow

Locations York and Margate

Opening 2023

The brothers behind the GuestHouse boutique hotel group are to launch a restaurant group focusing on dishes cooked over a wood and charcoal Mibrasa grill. Openings are planned in York and Margate, Kent, this year and Brighton, East Sussex, in 2024.

BoxPark Liverpool

Location Canning Hall, Liverpool

Opening 2023

The first BoxPark food hall outside London is to open in a 1980s warehouse building in Liverpool's Baltic Triangle district. Ten kitchen units, three internal bars and seating for 600 people will be spread across the 15,806 sq ft space.

Dovetale by Tom Sellers

Location 1 Dover Yard, 1 Hotel Mayfair, London

Opening May

Chef Tom Sellers is to open a restaurant at the 1 Hotel Mayfair when it launches overlooking London's Green Park this spring. It will include a grill menu and raw bar, while a Knickerbocker Glory trolley will see the classic dessert made tableside.
