Man arrested after stabbings at hotel and garage

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after two people were stabbed in Surbiton at about 1.45pm on Sunday (9 July).

The first victim is believed to have been stabbed at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Portsmouth Road, with the second attacked at a BMW garage next door. Both were taken to hospital.

Surrey Police said: "While we appreciate that this may be extremely concerning, we would like to reassure you that we believe this was an isolated incident. An investigation is underway to establish the circumstances of the incident and remains ongoing."

The suspect remains in custody.

Police have asked anyone with information to come forward quoting reference PR/SYP-20230709-0431.
