Will Oakley appointed general manager of Glenapp Castle

Will Oakley has been appointed general manager of Glenapp Castle, returning to the UK after spending seven years as general manager of Cobblers Cove in Barbados.

The 21-bedroom Ayrshire hotel recently launched the Endeavour castle apartment on its top floor. Proprietor Paul Szkiler is hoping to transform the hotel into a world-class destination with plans for a spa.

Glenapp Castle is also extending its food and beverage offering this summer and has launched a new Azalea Glasshouse restaurant in the Castle's walled gardens.

John Orr was the previous general manager of the hotel, which is also a member of the Relais & Châteaux consortium. He will remain with the business in a part time role as director of special relations.

Oakley also previously worked as general manager for Luxury Hotel Partners' Cadogan hotel in London as well as Bespoke Hotels' Halcyon hotel in Holland Park.

Jill Chalmers, managing director of Glenapp Castle, said: "We are utterly thrilled that Will has joined our team. He will be instrumental in taking Glenapp Castle and the business to the next level, we are delighted that he has joined us at a very exciting time for Glenapp Castle."
