Aiden Byrne to appear in new television programme

Manchester House chef Aiden Byrne is to appear in a new Channel 4 television show, it has been reported.

The chef, who appeared in the BBC programme Restaurant Wars with Simon Rogan, earlier this year, has already filmed a new series, provisionally called Best Chef, Worst Chef, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Byrne told the Manchester Evening News: "It has been a really fantastic project to work on, and TV crews love the kitchen at Manchester House because it's so open - it makes it so easy to film in there."

In the official statement announcing the series, Channel 4 commissioning editor Nick Hornby said: "Best Chef Worst Chef promises to be a thrilling new chapter in Channel 4's illustrious tradition of insanely entertaining food programmes, taking us to the outer extremes of Britain's extraordinarily vibrant food culture."

Byrne opened Manchester House in September last year, with backing from restaurateur Tim Bacon. The series Restaurant Wars saw him in competition with Simon Rogan's then-new site the French, also in Manchester.
