Amanda Hyndman to depart Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London

Amanda Hyndman is to leave the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London which she has overseen as general manager for the last three years and as area vice-president of London, Munich and Prague.

Hyndman will be returning to Asia to take up the position of area vice president, Operations for Hong Kong & South China, and group director of quality and rooms.

Torsten Van Dullemen will be taking over as general manager at the London hotel, having spent the last two years in the US as general manager of the Mandarin Oriental Washington DC and area vice-president, operations.

Hyndman arrived at the five-AA-star, 181-bedroom hotel in June 2018, two days before a fire broke out and just a week after the completion of a £100m, two-year renovation of the hotel, the most extensive renovation in its 117 years. The fire saw the total closure of the hotel for six months.

Hyndman has also overseen the property during lockdown-enforced closures over the last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Her previous roles include general manager of the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok, the Excelsior Hong Kong and the Mandarin Oriental Washington DC.
