Anthony's Restaurant in Leeds to relocate

Anthony's Restaurant in Leeds is set to relocate this spring from its original premises to the Piazza by Anthony in the city's Corn Exchange.

Chef Anthony Flinn first opened the restaurant in 2004 on Boar Lane. He will close the current premises at the end of March and reopen on 9 April in the new location.

Piazza by Anthony occupies the entire ground floor of the historic Corn Exchange and comprises a 118-seat brasserie, rib restaurant, café, cocktail bar, private dining rooms and four food stores.

"The move to the Corn Exchange is the obvious next step which will give us an opportunity to take our fine-dining restaurant to the next level," Flinn said.

"The expanded facilities that are made possible by the greater flexibility of space within the Piazza site will allow us to showcase dishes and techniques that were impossible in the small kitchen of the current Boar Lane site."

A new space will be created for the new fine-dining restaurant retaining the original dining room's intimacy with 40 covers and just one sitting at both lunch and dinner.

The main kitchen at the Piazza will be remodelled, allowing space for both the teams from Anthony's and the Piazza to work alongside each other under the guidance of executive chef and director Flinn. The restaurant will continue to be managed by Andrew Meads.

Flinn worked under John Campbell at the Michelin-starred Lords of the Manor in the Cotswolds before moving to Spain, where he worked alongside Xavier Pellicer at the Michelin-starred Abac in Barcelona and at Ferran Adria's iconic three-star El Bulli for two years. He opened his eponymous restaurant in 2004, with the Piazza by Anthony opening in 2008.
