Restaurant and pub groups announce extensions to Eat Out to Help Out scheme

Restaurant and pub groups have launched extensions to the chancellor's Eat Out to Help Out discount scheme to entice diners through their doors.

Rishi Sunak's discount scheme, to launch from 3 August, will see the government subsidise 50% of meals and non-alcoholic drinks at participating venues up to the value of £10 a person from Mondays to Wednesdays.

Today Boparan restaurant group, behind Carluccio's, Giraffe, Ed's Easy Diner, Slim Chickens and FishWorks, said it would remove the £10 limit to the scheme as well as offering £10 off any bottle of wine.

Yesterday Oakmann Inns and Stonegate pubs launched their own versions of the chancellor's ‘Eat Out to Help Out' discount scheme, two weeks ahead of its release.

Vouchers available from the Oakman's website or social media channels will entitle customers to 50% off food and non-alcoholic drinks, up to a maximum value of £10 per person, from Mondays through to Wednesday.

Meanwhile Stonegate will offer customers 50% off food, tea and coffee from Mondays to Wednesdays with no upper discount limit.

The Three Cheers Pub Co has extended the offer beyond August and will also offer customers 50% off food and non-alcoholic drinks in September.
