Gary Usher confirms plans to continue Elite Bistros at Home and expand into catering

Elite Bistros is in the process of signing a lease for a new site to continue its Elite Bistros at Home business after reopening, which it hopes to expand to outside catering.

Chef-restaurateur Gary Usher posted on Twitter: "Permission to broadcast some good news... With your help in the success of elite bistros at home (the business I didn't want to do) we are at the start of a lease signing process for a new site from which not only will we carry it on but also pursue outside catering like weddings."

Like many restaurants, the business has been delivering meals across the UK during the enforced closure of hospitality including the group's popular braised featherblade beef dish.

Elite Bistros representatives have been contacted for further information.

The Elite Bistros group is overseen by chef-restaurateur Usher as well as executive chef Richard Sharples and managing director Claire Wright.

Its sites includes Sticky Walnut in Hoole, Chester, the first solo restaurant for Usher which opened in 2011; Burnt Truffle in Heswall on the Wirral which was crowdfunded and opened in July 2015; Hispi in Didsbury, south Manchester; Wreckfish in Liverpool; Pinion in Prescot; and most recently Kala in Manchester, which opened in 2019.

Further openings have also previously been hinted at, including a pub and a new site in Leeds called Wagon House Bistro.
