Fergus Stewart appointed chief executive of the Lancaster Landmark Hotel Company

Fergus Stewart has been appointed chief executive of the Lancaster Landmark Hotel Company, which owns a global collection of hotels including the Landmark London, the Royal Lancaster and Basil Street Apartments.

He was promoted from his previous role as deputy managing director of the Lancaster Landmark Hotel Company, a position he held since 2021.

He is also general manager of the 300-bedroom Landmark London in Marylebone.

As group chief executive, Stewart will run several projects across the portfolio of hotels, including the £1.3m renovation of the Landmark London, which he is already overseeing. Plans include the addition of a Champagne terrace by April 2023 and the refurbishment of the Winter Garden Restaurant.

Stewart will also lead the rebrand of K West Shepherds Bush into Hotel Indigo by IHG Hotels & Resorts. The property is due to re-open in spring 2025, complete with a boutique spa and hydrotherapy pool.

Prior to his appointment to the Landmark Hotel Company, Stewart was senior vice president and acting chief operating officer at Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts in Dubai. He was also vice president of Intercontinental Hotels Group Luxury and Managed Hotels.

He has spent over 40 years in the hospitality industry.

Stewart said: "It's a great honour to be promoted to the role of CEO at The Lancaster Landmark Hotel Company. There are some extremely exciting things in the pipeline, and I'm thrilled to be overseeing the growth of our destinations, teams and accolades across the board."
