Holiday Inn Express Ealing sold to Lefar Group off £17m asking price

The 80-bedroom Holiday Inn Express Ealing has been sold to Lefar Group off an asking price of £17m.

The property began trading in November 2015 and is operated under a 20-year franchise agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG). The four-storey site has a bar and dining area as well as meeting and conference rooms. Planning consent for an additional 28 rooms has been approved.

Lefar Group is operated by the Kazemi family, which also owns London properties including the Holiday Inn Express Croydon, Best Western Corona Hotel Victoria and Sara hotel in Earl's Court. They plan to build the additional rooms and continue to operate it under the current brand.

Andrew Evangelou, director and head of London hotels in Christie & Co's hospitality team, handled the sale. He said: "Following the launch of this impressive hotel to market, we received a tremendous level of interest from both domestic and international buyers. And despite facing real market challenges when marketing the property throughout 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are delighted to announce the successful completion of this sale, which underlines how London hotels are still very much in high demand."
