Jeremy King 'to open two further restaurants' in London's West End

Jeremy King is reportedly set to open two restaurants in London's West End, following his announcement of the launch of grand café and brasserie the Park in spring 2024.

The Financial Times reported King "did not disclose the West End locations", but said that plans for the sites were at an "advanced" stage.

"He has viewed the Grade II-listed former NatWest bank on Piccadilly — just across the road from the Wolseley — according to three people familiar with the matter," the paper added.

Earlier this month, King, who was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2022 Cateys, shared an update that read: "At heart I am a restaurateur and hotelier so I have held off from troubling you until I had something confirmed and signed to talk about.

"This comes in the form of a new restaurant I have signed a lease on which sits in the new Park Modern building by Fenton Whelan on the corner of Bayswater Road and Queensway."

The Park would take its influence from Europe's grand cafés and brasseries, but be very much of the early 21st century rather than the 20th century, the period which influenced many of his earlier projects.

King also joined the Jamie Oliver Group in a non-executive director advisory role across the wider business earlier this year.

It comes after he was controversially ousted from restaurant group Corbin & King last year after a battle for control with Thai hotel group Minor International, which has since rebranded the business as the Wolseley Hospitality Group.

King has been contacted for comment.
