Manzi's finally set to open in May

The Wolseley Hospitality Group has announced that the long-awaited opening of Manzi's seafood restaurant in London's Soho is expected in May 2023.

Manzi's will pay homage to the restaurant of the same name which famously served Londoners off Leicester Square for more than half a century.

The restaurant will be located at Bateman's Buildings, a wide alleyway running south from Soho Square, parallel with both Greek and Frith Streets. It will be set over two floors and offer dishes such as moules marinière, a wide range of crustacea, a ‘catch of the day' and Dover sole.

The interiors by Fabled Studio will be inspired by the "hedonistic escapism" the original Manzi's was known for, but in a modern, glamorous guise, with mermaids and mermen, nautical adornments and sea creatures, with a colour palette of blues, whites and greens. It will also have a large outdoor terrace and private dining room.

The restaurant, the opening of which was announced while it was still under the ownership of Corbin & King, was expected to open in 2020. Thai hospitality group Minor International took control of the company and renamed it earlier this year.
