Sir Richard Sutton group launches Sutton Hotel Collection

Sir Richard Sutton group has announced the launch of Sutton Hotel Collection, named in tribute its late founder, who was murdered last year.

Comprising the 108-bedroom Castle Hotel Windsor, 84-bedroom Queens Hotel Cheltenham (pictured) and 98-bedroom Francis Hotel Bath, the hotels will remain owned by the group but will be transitioning from the MGallery Accor brand they have previously been a part of.

The transition period has been underway for several months and will continue over the next six months. Each hotel is benefiting from continued investment, including the installation of new technology, processes and systems.

Leading the hotels through their transition is William Gibbs, hotels director at Sir Richard Sutton group, who said: "Following the investment that we have made over the last year across all three hotels, we will continue to invest in all of our properties and hire the finest talent to help us build a Sutton Hotel Collection brand known for its quality of service and offering.

"We have exciting plans to deliver our vision for a perfect stay and look forward to bringing this vision alive in the coming months and years."

Sutton Hotel Collection ambassador, Caroline Sutton, who is the daughter of Sir Richard Sutton, said: "Sutton Hotel Collection is a fitting name in memory of my father who built a company which prided itself on quality and the highest ethical standards.

"This is an exciting new era for our hotels; already each is at the heart of their destinations and loved by their local communities, but we are looking to make the overall experience so much more meaningful for our guests, our teams and our communities with our new brand."

Sir Richard's company also owns London hotels the Sheraton Grand Park Lane and the Athenaeum.

Thomas Schreiber was found guilty of the murder of the millionaire hotelier and the attempted murder of his own mother following a three-week trial at Winchester Crown Court in December 2021.
