Roux at Parliament Square closes permanently

Roux at Parliament Square restaurant in London's Westminster has announced its permanent closure.

A post on the restaurant's website said: "Our restaurant has regrettably suffered during this incredibly difficult year. That, combined with the ongoing uncertainty ahead, has resulted in the permanent closure of Roux at Parliament Square."

The 60-cover venue was overseen by head chef and 2020 National Chef of the Year Steve Groves for the last seven years.

Groves joined Roux at Parliament Square, initially as sous chef, in 2010 having served previously as sous chef of Launceston Place in Kensington. The move came thanks to his MasterChef: The Professionals victory in 2009. After continuing to work at Launceston Place for a spell, Groves took up the opportunity to work with MasterChef judge Michel Roux Jr and his father Albert at the Westminster restaurant in 2010. He become head chef in 2013.

Roux at Parliament Square, run in partnership with the Roux family, forms part of RA Group's fine dining and public restaurants arm. RA also runs the catering operation for the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, which owns the building in which Roux at Parliament Square sits.
