Sam and Georgie Pearman's Country Creatures to launch the Double Red Duke hotel next year

12 November 2020 by

Sam and Georgie Pearman's Country Creatures business is set to launch the Double Red Duke in February 2021.

The 19-bedroom, 17th-century property in Clanfield, Oxfordshire, was formerly the Cotswold Plough and was owned by Martin and Chrissie Agius for 15 years, however the pair decided to focus on their gin business and sold the site.

Posting on Instagram, Georgie Pearman said the hotel will showcase "brilliant British crafts people, artisans and companies".

The Pearmans relaunched the 26-bedroom Talbot hotel in Malton, North Yorkshire last year following a refurbishment, one of the first projects for their new business, which focuses on creating restaurants, inns and hotels.

Country Creatures also operates the Chequers in Churchill and the Swan pub with rooms in Ascott-under-Wychwood, both in Oxfordshire.

The pair formerly owned Cotswold hotel and restaurant group the Lucky Onion, but left the group in 2017 to pursue other ventures. The group is now owned and run by Julian Dunkerton, the co-founder and former chief executive of fashion label Superdry.
