Top 30 Best Places to Work in Hospitality revealed
The 2021 top 30 Best Places to Work in Hospitality were revealed yesterday at The Caterer's People Summit.
Now in its seventh year, the award sees retention specialists Purple Cubed join forces with The Caterer and associate sponsor Umbrella Training to find and showcase the 30 Best Places to Work in Hospitality.
Purple Cubed's founder and chief executive Jane Sunley, who spoke at yesterday's People Summit, commented: "This year's Best Places to Work in Hospitality survey had a new, simpler, post-pandemic format and we were surprised and delighted to see record entries. The competition was tough, and standards extremely high, with an overall average score of 93%.
"It's great to see resounding evidence that so many hospitality businesses did a great job at handling the pandemic and taking care of their teams in very trying circumstances. Many congratulations to the top 30 and well done to everyone who took the initiative to enter and therefore access this important feedback to help them shape the future of work."
Jo Simovic, chief operating officer of Umbrella Training, added: "The top 30 employers have managed to shine bright in the darkest of the times, and their employees have recognised this with the highest scores we have ever seen.

The list is derived from companies recommended by their own employees who, this year, completed five appropriately crafted ‘killer' questions reflecting the hospitality environment over the last 12 months.
The survey results (shared with all entrants individually) rate how well employers responded to the pandemic and provide information that will be critical towards targeting scarce resources as organisations begin to move forward out of the Covid-19 restrictions.

- Average ENPS (employee net promoter score): +76
- 'My company supported and treated me well throughout Covid-19': highest-scoring question, with 76% scoring 9-10
- 'Overall, I am proud of the way my company handled the pandemic': second-highest scoring question, again with 76% scoring 9-10
- 'My company prepared well for reopening(s) and/or changes to the way we operate': 74% scored 9-10
- 'I felt informed about what was happening with my company throughout 2020': communication was the lowest-scored category, although only 12% of those surveyed scored it six or less.
