Attempted murder charge after woman stabbed in east London restaurant

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman in her early 20s was stabbed in a Newham restaurant.

Emergency services were called to the restaurant in Barking Road, east London, on Friday 25 March. The woman was found with stab injuries and taken to hospital where she is in a serious but stable condition.

Sriram Ambarla, 23, of no fixed address, was due to appear at Thames Magistrates' Court today (Monday 28 March).

Anyone with information has been asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
