Angus Gregory joins IRC board

Piccolino owner, the Individual Restaurant Company (IRC), has appointed ex-Nando's man Angus Gregory to the board as property director.

Gregory, who starts his new role on 1 April was senior acquisition manager at Nando's and has also worked for The Restaurant Group.

He will oversee the 24-strong chain's ambitions to expand the group, predominantly through its Piccolino's format, by six sites a year.

IRC's next opening will be a Liverpool Bar & Grill at the start of April. Sheffield and West Didsbury Piccolinos are due to open before July 2007.

As part of last year's takeover of IRC, Steven Walker and Vernon Lord became chief executive and finance director, respectively, of the combined group in December 2006.

At the same time former managing director Christian Delteil; Geoffrey Smith, finance director; former chairman Leigh Collins; and Paul Goodale, director of operations for Zinc resigned from the board.

The company has halted plans to expand its Zinc brand in favour of its Piccolino and Bar and Grill formats.
