Prezzo soars on strong first half performance

Pizza and pasta chain Prezzo has made a strong start to the year with pre-tax profit up 40% to £3.1m.

Turnover at the group also leapt by 51% to £24.1m (2005: £15.9m), and it now has 90 restaurants with five more under construction.

During February the company completed a share placing, which raised £7.125m.

Prezzo chief executive Jonathan Kaye said: "We are delighted by these results which demonstrate the continued development of the company."
