Chef-restaurateur Nico Simeone is set to open the first London site of his Six by Nico concept in Fitzrovia.

The 80-cover restaurant will occupy the former site of Zizzi's restaurant on 33 to 41 Charlotte Street, with a changing six course tasting menu that will be inspired by a different place, memory or idea every six weeks.

Themes to date include childhood, guilty pleasures, Catalonia and Thai street food with menus priced at £35.

Simeone said: "We are very excited to bring an unforgettable culinary experience to London. With its central location, Charlotte Street provides us with a great opportunity to join the city's thriving restaurant scene.

"Restaurant trends are moving towards experiential dining and at Six by Nico our menus are inspired by great memories and interesting stories. Our new London restaurant site will create the perfect recipe for an exciting epicurean adventure."

Glaswegian designers Severino have been brought in creating an inviting yet industrial aesthetic featuring an open kitchen. previously worked at Michelin-starred Number One at the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh and was named the Young Scottish Seafood Chef of the Year.

He launched Six by Nico in 2017 in Glasgow which has since expanded with outposts in Edinburgh, Belfast, Manchester and Liverpool.

Six by Nico London will open in Spring 2020 and there are plans to create 40 new jobs as it expands its restaurant portfolio across the UK and Ireland.
