The Coffee House Project launches in Bristol
The Coffee House Project has announced Bristol's first coffee festival running on the 7 and 8 September 2018.
The two-day event is being held at The Passenger Shed, is designed to celebrate local talent from the food and drink sector focusing on local, artisan roasters, independent food and drink retailers and local baristas.
Up to 50 exhibitors are expected including Clifton Coffee Roasters, Girls who Grind Coffee, Extract Coffee, Libby Ballard Ceramics and Manumit roasters amongst those already confirmed. La Marzocco is also confirmed as one of the main sponsors of the event.
Founding partners of The Coffee House Project Louisa Parry and Sofia Simou have lived and breathed coffee culture around the world but found nowhere quite like their home city of Bristol.
"The Coffee House Project was born out of an idea to bring the best of the industry in Bristol and the South West together under one roof. We wanted to showcase all the amazing stuff that's going on down here and capture the energy of the vibrant coffee scene in one massive celebration," the pair explained.
"We've put a lot of hard work into the project but count ourselves lucky to be able to meet passionate people every day and hold all our meetings in awesome coffee shops. We've learnt so much already and can't wait to share it all with Bristol's coffee loving fans. Roll on September!"
The event is also holding a two-day barista competition, ‘Coffee in Good Spirits', hosted by the SCA UK which will see the nation's best baristas go head to head in a coffee and cocktail competition with the overall winner heading to the grand final.
Paul Kelly, general manager from La Marzocco, said: "Celebrating coffee is a natural fit to us and this event will encapsulate that unique culture and bring our industry and talent within it to life. We are seeing such a demand for good coffee and exceptional hospitality throughout the UK and this shows no signs of disappearing."
